Each year since 2003, The Coca-Cola Company has generated a Sustainability Report presenting progress made against the Coca-Cola system's 2020 sustainability goals. The latest report was released in July.
Highlights include:
"Overall, we are pleased — but not satisfied — with our sustainability progress and the milestones we've reached. As we advance our reporting and disclosures, we continue to support and measure our sustainability progress against the principles outlined in the United Nations Global Compact. For this year and beyond, we're committed to building on the successes of 2014, further integrating sustainability into our business and gaining fresh momentum," The Coca-Cola Company Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent wrote in his letter introducing the report.
"We believe the majority of innovation over the next decade will happen at the intersection of sustainability and the supply chain. Working together with our bottling partners to empower women, better manage water resources and promote well-being gives us new opportunities to build business resiliency and add value across our system," says chief sustainability officer Bea Perez.
